A few thoughts on reopening…

Posted on 03. Aug, 2008 by in TwilightMOMS

Tomorrow is the day!  It seems like it has been forever since we have been able to visit with each other.  We are really looking forward to tomorrow but there are a few things we need to review first.

~We will only be opening the Book forums, the Get-Together forums and the Introduction forums for the first few days.  This will allow any new members to post their introductions, party goers to post their pictures and for Breaking Dawn to be discussed.  We know things will be chaotic for the first few days so we wanted to be able to focus on those particular forums.

~If you have not finished Breaking Dawn please do not enter the forums unless you want to be spoiled.  Anything is fair game now so enter at your own risk!!

~Please remember that this is a Stephenie Meyer fan site and we have a very strict no bashing policy.  This is from The Rules-

*NO CHARACTER OR CELEBRITY BASHING  If you don’t like or hate any of the characters (or actors portraying the characters) in any of the books written by Stephenie Meyer, this site is not for you. Our discussions about the author Stephenie Meyer and her characters and stories are based solely on our love and enthusiasm for them. This site is just for FANS and there is a difference between discussing character flaws and bashing characters. If you do not know the difference, it is suggested that you do not make any negative comments regarding characters.

~We know that not everyone will have the same opinion of Breaking Dawn.  We respect that.  We expect all our members to be respectful of each other and their opinions.  Mature, rational and thoughtful discussion of Breaking Dawn is encouraged.  Mean, nasty, or bashing discussions will be deleted.  Once again we refer to The Rules-

*BE NICE! DON’T BE EASILY OFFENDED. DON’T BASH OTHERS! Speak kind words to each other. Keep this forum a positive and fun place for moms to come and interact and make friendships. Think twice before you get offended over a comment. The author may not have meant any offense. Since we can’t see each other’s faces or hear the inflection in each other’s voices, it is easier to take something the wrong way. Do not speak ill of or belittle any other members of this site OR any other site!

~If you have any questions please feel free to contact any one of our Administrators or Volturi Moms.

Very well said! ;) Sometimes I think that a gentle reminder of why we’re all here is a good thing to have!

I’m looking forward to meeting all of our new members and finally having a chance to catch up with all of my TM friends! :D

    10 hours to go!

Thank you again, to the mods & admins for keeping this blog going with all the updates & articles & great info during the lockdown! You’re the best!

Thank you for posting this. All the negativity is breaking my heart. I love TwilightMoms because I know I can come here for mature conversation on a topic we all love–The Twilight Series! Thanks for being my haven.

Yes, I love your idea Illumin8! I really need to talk about what I’ve read so far, but I’m also only toward the beginning of book 3.

How refreshing! I personally think the whole series is absolutely fabulous, who could think of anything negative to say?! And for those of you who are still finishing, enjoy it, savor every paragraph!

I too wanted to add my thanks for keeping this news blog open and constantly updated while the forums were closed. I NEEDED my Twilight fix during those couple of weeks and it was SO nice to know that I could come here and get up-to-date information without having to worry about spoilers (which I fiercely protected myself from!)

I too am saddened by all of the hateful, hateful commentary Stephenie is receiving in the community. My heart aches for her. I hope she will be able to see past it all and see that she still has a huge, loyal fan base!!

Whoah, it’s locked again. That stinks, I do most of my complicated Internet stuff late at night. Can I still post my clean house after pics in the morning? Or can I email them to someone tonight? I’m nursing the baby at my desktop right at the moment but once she’s [finally] asleep, I’ll upload them on the laptop.

I’m new here. Please tell me if I am doing this wrong. I’m new the whole blog / forums thing. I have gone to many sites just browsing to see what others have thought about Breaking Dawn. When I finished the book at 6:00 PM on Sunday, I had the biggest, cheesiest grin on my face. I was so excited to hear what others thought. Needless to say, I was quite broken hearted by so many of the hateful and hurtful comments made. I just don’t understand how anyone could even think tell an author (who was kind AND brave enough to share her beloved characters and their world with us), that she got it wrong. When it’s your creation, you can’t be wrong!

Any hoo, now that I have that off of my chest….I think I might just be going to the wrong sites. Being a woman in her 30′s, my perspective of these stories varies quite a bit from a good majority of the kiddos out there who are just as equally obsessed with Bella and her vamps. Twilight Moms seems to be exactly what I was looking for. Thank the goddess for that!
