Movie date
Current mood:
groggy
Just a few things about the new release Nov. 21st release date for Twilight:
1) I have no idea how this affects international release dates. I’m not exactly in the loop on those kinds of things. Hopefully that information will be available soon. I’ll see what I can find out…
2) I’m really, really sorry for any inconvenience the new schedule is causing people. I feel your pain. Let’s just say that my Thanksgiving plans are going through a major overhaul, too.
3) Looking on the bright side, this new release date means that Twilight will get to be on more screens–a lot more. That might mean a shorter drive for some people.

I have to say that I honestly have reservations about the movie. I and my daughters are great movie buffs but we tend to be the ones that pick out all the changes that are made for a movie production. (Spiderwick Chronicles, HP3, etc) The books are so great that I would pay full price to see it performed just as they are told through the pages. Even if it took two or three full length movies to do one book. It would be worth it.
After my life changing event occurred I finally picked up Eclipse and finished it. Just days later my copy of Breaking Dawn arrived and I finished it in a long overnight reading session. How truly blessed with talent you are. Glad to see you aren’t hiding them under a bushel. lol

How great is Stephenie! Whenever she writes on her blog, I feel how much she cares for her fans. What writer actually cares how far we have to drive to see her movie on the big screen. I drove from the Twin Cities to Chicago to see her for 20 seconds and it was soooo worth it. I hope she gets everything she wants for Christmas. I just love her.

When I heard the news that Twilight was moving to an earlier release date of Nov. 21st, I went to my happy place. I’m thrilled that it will be available on more screens so that the uninitiated, there must be a few still out there, will have the opportunity to discover the Twilight universe. I’m trying very hard not to build up any preconcieved notions about the film but just to go and let the movie wash over me as something new and wonderful to enjoy.

I agree with Fan of Twilight, Steph- really cares. She is sorry if we have to re-arrange our Thanksgiving plans, what author or any famous person cares about that stuff. I hope her fans always continue to show her respect and support.
Yeah, Santa will be good to her…LOL

Sorry for the groggy mood…I think we’ll all be very sympathetic towards Stephenie come Thanksgiving…yikes!…Whole Foods has those great dinners they prepare…you know Thanksgiving in a box??!! I for one, am very excited…and plotting ways to go see it in a group…so I am not the oldest thing in the theater…you know, one without a teenage boyfriend at her side…instead a hubby of 15 years (yikes!)who will willingly go…ahem.

She sooo doesn’t need to apologize; we’re getting the movie 3 weeks early! And no HP means more visibility/hype for Twilight. Stop apologizing, Steph, most of us are in our happy place because of you! And I am sorry she has to miss out on some of her Thanksgiving plans, but Bellasmama has a good point, this might be a “Thanksgiving in a box” type of year.

Works out well for me – the movie 3 weeks earlier and I’m Canadian -so our Thanksgiving will be well over back in October !
