Hooray!!! I am so happy for Taylor and for New Moon…he is our Jacob!
I am sooo happy to see Taylor back as Jacob, and glad to see the key words in this decision weren’t size or appearance, but emotions. Go Taylor and thanks Chris and Stephenie!
YAY! YAY! YAY!!!!!!!
This news made my day! Taylor has Jacob’s heart, and that is what I wanted to see more than anything! Thank you Steph, Chris, and Summit!!!! You made me one happy Twilight Fan today!!!!
This announcement made my day!! Thank you Summit – thank you Chris – thank you Taylor for doing such a fantastic job in Twilight! You truly are Jacob Black!!
There’s excitement in the Twilight World tonight!! Yes, wonderful news to hear!!!
Thanks Steph. Looking forward to a Happy New Moon Year!!!
All around the world, mothers and their daughters in households like mine – and lots of other fans, too – are celebrating! Hope you’re feeling the love, Taylor. You earned it! You love your work, the stories and the fans. You’re one of us, and we love you back! Can’t wait to be “surprised by the Jacob Black that Taylor will bring to the screen in New Moon.”
I am overwhelmed with joy at this announcement! We’ve all been discussing this and agonizing over it for quite a while now, and it now seems that all the crossed fingers, rabbits feet, 4 leaf clovers & horseshoes did the trick!
Thank you, Chris & everyone at Summit, for coming to this decision. I can’t even begin to convey how overjoyed the entire fandom is at the news, let alone myself & my daughter.
Thank you, Stephenie, for whatever input you had into this decision so that it could come to this conclusion.
and thank you to Taylor, for not only embodying Jacob Black so completely, but for being incredibly well-spoken and classy over the last few weeks. You have shown yourself to be an incredible person, full of passion for the role, and someone who is graceful under pressure.
Congratulations from the bottom of my heart on this accomplishment! I always knew you had it in you to convince them all what we have always known — that no one could be Jacob but you!
Oh, that’s such good news! Taylor is already Jacob in my heart as I re-read the books; re-casting would have really hard for me to reconcile. Thanks, Taylor, for digging in and doing the work to convince the powers that you can do it!
Whew!! Wow!! What a relief!
This is such great, great news!! I am so happy for Taylor. Yes, he is Jacob.
Now! New Moon can go forward.
I’m so glad to hear that Steph was a part of the decision.
Oh happy day!!!! What fantastic news!!!!!
Okay… NOW I am willing to be optimistic about CW directing
HOORAY for keeping Taylor!!!
Congrats, Taylor! I am thrilled to hear you are our Jacob for New Moon! What a relief!
I am so very excited I was so nervous he would not be our Jacob and when I heard the news it so made my day thank you so much I am so very excited Taylor is Jacob congratulations Taylor I am so excited
Thank you Stephenie, Summit, and Chris
I’m so thankful for this news…I hardly know where to begin.
First of all, thank you to Chris Weitz, Summit Entertainment, and Stephenie Meyer for all you did to bring our “Jacob” back to us. So many of us have truly come to appreciate and care about Taylor Lautner. To see him replaced – not because of character flaws or inadequate acting skills, but because of size – would have broken our hearts. Many of us are so invested in these characters and their stories that it would have been like losing a member of the family.
Another thank you to Mr. Weitz, who has so courteously kept us informed regarding key decisions for New Moon. We certainly understand that you do not have to answer to us – the fans of Twilight – but we are very grateful that you’ve taken the time to do it. Thank you.
And finally, congratulations to Taylor. I can hardly contain all of the happiness I feel for you right now. I’m envisioning all of the celebrations going on with the Lautner friends and family members tonight. We rejoice with you.
Now, at last, I can truly say I’m looking forward to the New Moon ride!

I am so happy for Taylor, he definetly deserves the part. He IS Jacob. Chris Weitz just got on my good side. I am glad he is officialy informed us of this decision. Thank you Mr. Wietz.
Congratulations Taylor! You have been so passionate about the role of Jacob since day one and I know you will be incredible in New Moon. Your persistence and dedication paid off!
Thank you to Chris Weitz, Summit Entertainment, and Stephenie Meyer for believing in Taylor as much as the fans do. We were definitely celebrating in my house last night and I’m Team Edward lol. I can’t wait for the movie…bring on New Moon!
WOO HOO! Such a happy, fantastic day! Congrats to Taylor. He has brought such a JOY to his part in all of this, I couldn’t be happier for him!!
And to Chris – Thank you for realizing that apart from anything else, Taylor has the emotional investment for the part. You’re starting to grow on me.
This is really a wonderful news! Congratulations Taylor! I can’t wait to see him as Jacob in New Moon.
Hooray for Taylor and and all Twilighters!
This is the news I was waiting for, some good feeling to energize the fandom going into a Merry New Moon Year! Thank you to Chris, Summit and, the God of Twilight, Stephanie.
GO TAYLOR! GO TAYLOR! GO TAYLOR!
Yay! I’m so relieved Taylor is staying our Jacob!
This is the best news yet! If they had decided to recast Jacob’s role I don’t think I’d have even bothered to go see New Moon since I thought he was the only one of the three leads that I thought they got right. Taylor will undoubtedly carry the film. Go Chris!
CTP<—-doing her happy dance!! I’ve been keeping my fingers crossed for sooooo long. This is just great news. Taylor captured the Jacob Black in Twilight to perfection and I have no reservations (hehe) that he will do the same outstanding job portraying Jacob Black in New Moon.
Thank you Summit for making the right choice. Taylor IS Jacob. Even in his brief scenes in “Twilight” it is obvious that he has what it takes to “save” Bella in her darkest hours. And the glare he gives Edward at the prom has me waiting and anticipating fantastic altercations between the two. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Woofreakinhoo! I was having a really hard time imagining someone else. Great news. It is really nice to hear that Stephenie was part of the decision making process. Perhaps we should also thank Kristen Stewart for making the chemistry work with Taylor in the screen test they had to do with Chris Weitz. If that wasn’t there perhaps there would have been a different outcome. I am so anxious for more news and for filming coverage. As I wrote before Woofreakinhoo!
Glory be! There is hope the’re not going to muck it up.
Awesome! I totally agree, Taylor has the right soul for the part, no matter how tall he is right now!
The BETTER news, reading between the lines, Stephenie was ‘very much a part of this decision.’
After the first one I was CRAVING more Stephenie as a creative force for the movie, not just as the author that the movie is adapted from.
If Summit is listening, the overwhelming Twilight numbers were because of HER and HER fans and the HOPE that Summit had made a good movie. New Moon needs her guidance to get it RIGHT!
Can’t wait for New Moon!

I’m SO happy about this! I think Taylor is so passionate about “The Twilight Saga” and I know he was so excited about Jacob in the other movies! I think he’ll DEFINITELY bring all that passion further to the role, like he did with “Twilight.” I know there’s definite chemistry between him and Kristen, but also him and Robert!
I feel SO happy for Taylor!!!
I’m so excited to see New Moon and what TL does in it!
