Official Filming Location In Italy For New Moon?

Could this be the Volterra we have all read about? The home of vampire “royalty” which had us shuddering at the horrors that go on deep below the unknowing city?
Twilighters 2.0, an Italian fan site is reporting that they have confirmed Montepulciano as the filming location for New Moon in Italy. Not only that, they are reporting that filming there will be occurring May 25-30th. Read Here.
But, for those of us not fluent in Italian, below is the translation as given by the widget on my Mac (always a reliable source! LOL!)

I wonder why they’re not filming in Volterra. I saw a Rick Steves video last year where he went to Volterra, as well as a few other cities in the region. I saw THE clock tower in the background. Ooooooh, it gave me chills.

Montepulciano is so beautiful. We’ve been there for holidays five times now and is is absolutely stunning!
volterra is really beautiful too, so both towns would have been great as the real volturi volterra.
oh thats exciting! I have to check my schedule. perhaps I can make it to montepulciano in may… (we live in bavaria – so it is not that far…)

Just in case anybody’s interested, here’s the *real* translation!
“It’s official!
New Moon will be filmed at Montepulciano from May 25th to May 30th.
We personally got the confirmation from the local tourist office a few minutes ago.
We’re already in contact with the city trying to organize something, so don’t panic and stay tuned to our site!
As soon as we have further news we’ll let you know instantly!”
