The Twilight Saga in Arabic

Publisher’s Weekly is reporting that the Twilight Series is being translated in to Arabic.
Fadel said the company wanted to capitalize on the interest generated by the film, and felt it was important to get the books translated as quickly as possible. “It was a huge commitment and hugely expensive, but we used four different translators—one on each book,” he said. “Of course, we would have liked to have just used one translator, but we observed that when customers went into a bookstore to buy Twilight they tended to buy multiple volumes, so we wanted to have them on offer all at once.”

The image on the post is the logo of the company who is translating the books. It says, “The Arab Cultural Center”. The rest around it is just design around the calligraphy. Isn’t arabic calligraphy pretty? Anyway, this is so cool because now some of my family who have trouble reading in English can read the books, too. I would get it for my mom to read when it comes out, but I doubt she will read it. Still, if I get it for her maybe…

I also thought you might like to know the transliteration, or how to say it, in arabic. It sort of sounds like this: Al Markez al thakafee al arabeeya. The R is rolled and the a sounds more like an e in el. I didn’t write merkez because it looks like you say mer and not mair. I don’t know, I just wanted to help for the Twilight moms who don’t read arabic. I wish I could just say it for you all.
