Who do you think should be on the New Moon Soundtrack?
Posted on 10. May, 2009 by AmyO in News
With all the rumors floating around about the music on the New Moon soundtrack (Kelly Clarkson, Justin Guarini, etc.) MTV is asking the Twilight experts (us!) who should really get a spot on the soundtrack.
And looking beyond the question, who else do you want on the sequel soundtrack? Should Chris and Stephenie ask Paramore or one of the other bands to return? Are there other, undiscovered bands out there that would be perfect for the sound you imagine would accompany such a visual, stirring book?
I personally agree with Larry’s assesment of the amazing talent that has come out of love from the Twilight Saga and would love to see groups like the Mitch Hansen Band have a chance to shine on the soundtrack.
I’d love to see the franchise give some love to the “Twilight” bands. Artists like Mitch Hansen, The Bella Cullen Project and others have really impressed me with their talents, and I’m sure they’d be thrilled to record something for their favorite series. And how cool would it be to hear one of their songs during the infamous birthday party scene? Or the cliff-dive?
What do you all think? Head on over to MTV and let your voices be heard!

What about something new that could express Bella’s point of view. The depth of her loss – her survival after.

I definately think that they should bring back some of the original artists from the TW s/t – Paramore and muse. Other artists should be evanescense (my immortal) and KOL (closer). Kelly clarkson ??? not too sure i’d rather have Hana Pestle’s song Need. T
They def need to keep the rock element going in the s/t it just suits the mood.

I think they ought to consider Anna Nalick’s “In the Rough”

The greatest thing about twilight (the movie) is the fact that they’ve used relatively unkown actors as well as artist (accept from link in park) and thereby giving them the chance to shine and show what they’ve got. I hope that others, small actors/actresses and smaller bands and artists will be able to do the same in New Moon and Ecplise. Big actors and bands dont need the attention as much. And if they want someone to return for New moon-soundtrack – take Carter Burwell’s “Bellas lullaby”. Its amazing and no other song will do as we’ve already fallen in love with that one. It’s like switching a vampire for a werewolf, it just aint gonna happen ;]

Even though it was on the Twilight Soundtrack, I think Down to You by Paramour fits New Moon perfectly.

I agree, let’s keep the soundtrack to lesser known/popular bands. I love Kelly Clarkson, but in my opinion, she has no place with Twilight. Period.

On a hot summer night, would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?
Yes!
Hot summer night by Meatloaf

I can’t believe I’m suggesting it but yes…Alanis Morissette’s Uninvited lends itself so perfectly to the eerily sad story that new moon tells. I think someone should do a cover of it and use that haunting music!! It is a perfect fit for the twilight series.

There are so many bands campaigning for a song on the New Moon soundtrack! There are so many fitting songs but, I have to admit… I’m really hoping for a Mitch Hansen miracle. Considering he was THE very very FIRST Twilight DAD ever… way back when I first started TwilightMOMS as a group on Myspace… I have to admit I’d absolutely be thrilled for him if it were to happen.
He’s such an all around good guy too. Not the kind that would let it go to his head or anything. Either way, musically speaking, Mitch Hansen is really talented and I’d love to see him reach the kind of success he deserves.

I hate to show my age here, but Duran Duran has songs named “New Moon” and “Midnight Sun.” If HOllywood execs dub Duran Duran too old for this soundtrack, I think some of the younger artists (from Stephenie’s playlists, of course) should remake those songs! They’re a perfect fit!

Come Away is about being lost in a world of lies and being confused on where to go…
When I wrote the song, it was ment for Bella from Jacobs point of view.

I think that Carolina Liar’s,”Something to Die for” should be considered. It captures Edward ‘s mood while in Volterra.
I also think Iron and Wine’s ethereal, ” Wolves” (song of the Shepard’s dog) would compliment the film. Wolves incorporates drum beats that remind me of pounding, padded paws tearing through a forest.
Any guess who my favorite character is?!
