Who should direct Breaking Dawn?
Posted on 20. May, 2009 by AmyO in News
Although there has been no official confirmation from Summit that Breaking Dawn will be made into a movie the discussion on who should direct the movie has already begun. The LA Times has suggested 6 people that could possibly handle the complex storyline and special effects in Breaking Dawn. Their suggestions include Peter Jackson, Guillermo del Toro, Len Wiseman, Andrew Adamson, Sam Raimi, and Alfonso Cuarón. See their breakdown of why each of these directors could helm Breaking Dawn the Movie here.

Oooo Alfonso Cuaron makes me tingle with possibilities. So does Peter Jackson (though I doubt he would do it). Actually, that whole list is nice.

I would love to see Peter Jackson do it, and I think it should be handled like The Lord of the Rings where it is shot & edited to meet the approximate two hour movie limit but when released on DVD, release it as a directors cut with the full story. I could sit through 3-4 hours of Edward easily, especially knowing it were the last one

Uh. This is so obvious (in my opinion)! Alfonso Cuaron! Si! Si! Le eligo! Geez! This is the guy who did “Y Tu Mama Tambien” – hot, racy, challenging subject matter. Then he went on to do Children of Men – visualy fascinating. He was a producer on “Pan’s Labyrinth”. Say no more, say no more.

My vote is for Sam Raimi. I really like his work and think he can handle Breaking Dawn.

I think Guillermo del Toro would be a GREAT director for Breaking Dawn. The only person I would object to directing is Sam Raimi. I really didnt like his work on any of the spiderman movies and think his directing style wouldnt fit the mood for a twilight saga movie.
I do agree with MommiesNotRight though and that a Peter Jackson LOTR style 3-4 hour dvd directors cut plus TONS of extras would be really nice =D

Cathrine Hardwicke is the only who would do – most fans would want that, since she started it she should end it – the circle would be complete.
