I agree with you all. I am pretty disappointed in Summit’s choice of directors for this one. I am also a little concerned about his comment that “It is darker”. I hope that doesn’t mean that this will be the focus and that the passion & endearing feeling that the characters provide will be lost.

I agree with everything you’ve said. I want a director who loves the characters and the story (as much as I do) in order to bring it to life on the screen. I love “Eclipse’ and will find it heartbreaking if the story is told through the eyes of a man whose heart just isn’t in it. Mr.Slade doesn’t realize the magic within the Twilight Saga. I hope that come August something will “click ” into place within him.

I definitely agree with the previous posters here. I have a real uneasy feeling about David Slade. I get the distinct feeling that he doesn’t really care for the books and doesn’t have his heart into making this the best possible movie he can. There is no passion when he talks about making Eclipse. When he does give a compliment it’s definitely back-handed. With there always being back tracking and misquotes that makes me cringe because I know he doesn’t get it. I feel he is only doing this film for the money and fame and that makes me sad.

I totally agree with the previous posts on this one. I haven’t read a single interview from him where he didn’t have a derogatory comment or back-handed compliment about the books. I’m really worried for the Eclipse movie…….

I agree with a couple previous posters…every time he opens his mouth, some kind of retraction or misquote is issued a day later. I do not think he likes the books, or gets it. I have a really bad feeling….Eclipse is my favorite book and I fear he is going to turn it into Dawn of the Dead…..

Ok i’m still going with my original thought – i’m not sure about this guy. I agree with Dreamingheart his behavior of always backtracking makes me uneasy. I’m really don’t think he has the passion that CH or CW had. I do however like the thought of getting more info about jasper into the movie. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see

Hmmm, I don’t know about this director. It seems he’s always backtracking and revising his statements. That behavior makes me very uneasy, and concerned about his ability to do Eclipse justice as **Stephenie** wrote it. He just doesn’t seem to understand it as well as the director should, or have his heart in it as we all do.

Summit – I really think you need to reconsider this directoral appointment!!
