The Man in the Mirror

Posted on 25. Jun, 2009 by AmyO in News

So many of us are shocked and saddened by the passing of Michael Jackson.  Although there is no Twilight connection with Michael Jackson we still felt the need to mention it because of his influence on so many lives. We have created a space for you all to leave your thoughts and memories of Michael Jackson here.

This is a tribute to Michael from one of *gypsy wings* friends that I found particularly touching.

Thank you so much for posting this. I grew up with Michael Jackson. I remember watching him do the moon walk for the first time. And I remember this song and what it was about, but this is the first time in my life that I have ever listened to the words. For all the bad that was later in his life, there was good there too. So many losses this week, with Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Micheal Jackson. I feel as though my youth is dissapearing and it makes me very sad. Thoughts go out to all the families involved.

No Connection?? I beg to differ… he and Jacob Black are kindred spirits in the video for thriller!! RIP Michael

I think the whole Thriller video is a Twilight connection, the werewolf, the zombie army, the fact that the girl did not know she was dating a guy who was not human, No connection? I think there is a big connection. I can totally see the vampires and the werewolves dancing to Thriller. Thriller=Twilight.

I was sad but not suprised about Farrah’s passing and Ed Mchmon, they were sick for a long time, but MJ was a shock and he was on the verge of a comeback, those concerts in London were sold out, I remember having the biggest crush
on this man during the 80s, I had the jacket, the doll, you name it., I never believed he did anything to those children, because he was a child himself. I just hope he is finally happy and at peace.

The Man in the Mirror….my favorite Michael Jackson song. I just cannot believe he is gone. I am truly sad that he didn’t get to live a full happy life. I hope he knows how much is loved and how much he will be missed. RIP.

The news of Michael’s passing is truly sad. No matter what controversies surrounded his life, he is a part of so many memories from my childhood. We children of the 70s and 80s really got the very best of Michael Jackson. I am sorry that our children’s generation has the image of him as a strange, accused child molester. I wish they could have heard and seen him in his hey day.

The music and videos do live on though, and they are timeless. My daughter played several Jackson Five songs in her middle school marching band and they were her favorites.

    We have lost an icon.

June 25th in any year from yesterday will never be the same. I truly have to agree with leighbo with the fact that we got the best of Michael Jackson in the 70’s and 80’s. I had a hard conversation with a 12 and 8 year old yesterday, (not mine) but, one said it was too bad he wasn’t going to heaven and the other said too bad he isn’t going to heaven. I was so saddened by that. I had to tell them that they don’t truly know that and there is only one man that has the right to judge, and I went on to say how truly wonderful he was and that he will be remembered always as the KING OF POP.

On a happy note, my 11 year old was truly saddened by the news. It isn’t a happy note because he was sad, it is a happy note because I feel that I haven’t let my son be influenced by the media. (you can’t believe everything you hear/see)

    RIP Michael Jackson

Annie: I just watched Thiller today and when he changes into the werewolf, Twilight was the first thing I thought of. There’s definitely is a connection.

Thanks for posting something about Michael’s passing. He was very important in many of our lives.
