How Stephenie Meyer saved Forks, Washington

MTV’s Hollywood Crush blog has an article about how Stephenie Meyer saved the town of Forks, Washington when she decided to base the Twilight Saga there.
Forks, like many other towns on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, have been experiencing a state of depression over the past decade with the decline of the logging industry, Gurling told Hollywood Crush in a interview. He said other towns in the surrounding area are facing serious economic issues because they are not making the money from timber sales they need to be making. Gurling said Forks would have found itself in a similar situation if it wasn’t for the release of “Twilight.”

I agree that Twilight did save the charming little town of Forks. I was there in June with 2 friends from Seattle. We spent our fair share in the town. I loved the lady at Dazzled by Twilight and the folks at Forks Outfitters Everyone there was very nice and loved LaPush. I have 2 other friends that were just there this month. I hope the little town Forks does well through all the remaining sequels. Other than seeing my friends in Seattle, I would have never gone there and experince all of the beauitful scenery and people if not for Twilight.
