A closer look at Chris Weitz (I love him!)

If you want to know why I love Chris Weitz, take a look at this article on Rotten Tomatoes.
Aside from the reminders about Weitz’s impressive directing pedigree, it talks about his role as an actor himself, and his ties to many acting family members – and speculates that those ties have made him a perfect fit for New Moon. According to producer Wyck Godfrey,
“…he really trusts actors and I think they can really feel that inherently. And as a result, we’ve gotten much more authentic, very natural performances from all the actors.”
The article is worth a read for the quotes from Taylor Lautner, Melissa Rosenberg and Rachelle Lefevre. Here’s an excerpt from Rachelle’s:
I feel like part of the reason he came in maybe a little more quiet was just sort of respect the fact that he didn’t just show up and go, ‘All right guys. It’s Chris Weitz’s Twilight now.’ He didn’t do that at all. He completely respected that somebody else had laid the foundation and he was like, all right, here’s where I’m going to take it within the realm of what’s already been established.

Ooooh can’t wait until November!! Yes, I’ve read that the cast really enjoyed working with him. Maybe he can come back and direct “Breaking Dawn”? From what I’ve seen in the trailers, he’s the guy!
