Bella’s Wedding Dress

Posted on 25. Aug, 2009 by in News

InStyle asked several top designers to come up with their version of Bella’s wedding dress.  While none of the dresses look like my image of Bella’s dress these designers came up with some gorgeous dresses.  Check them all out here.

i def don’t like the one above, in-fact i don’t like most of them they’re either too out there, too much, too modren or just something that dosen’t fit the description in the book. Saying that i really love numbers 2 and 7 and think they fit SM’s description best.
I really hope they choose one close to the book it is after all supposed to center around the ring – jane austin era not something mod.

I like #3 and #7, they fit more to stephenie’s description in book. Dress was supposed to be designed in the style of Edward’s mother’s ring. Other dresses were to modern, not old-fashioned like Edward, remember he was born in 1901 and “died” in 1918!

I like Lela Rose’s design. Definitely the closest to the Austen-era description while still keeping it modern (a la Alice ;) ).

I did not like any; spanish bridal dresses are the best; I recommend the catalan Rosa Clará, who was the star of the recent Gaudí catwalk bridal in Barcelona. It has to be a youthful but haute couture dress, since was chosen for Bella by Alice´s exquisite taste.

A 15 years old girl I happen to know has a photo album with all the romantic photos of Edward and Bella, but she post her face instead of Bella´s face, a nice digital work. A very intelligent girl. She is waiting that wedding and the Breaking Dawn film as if it were her own wedding. Since some point of view, it will be.

Wow, How much fun! I especially like the Monique Lhuillier #2 and Garung #6(Just the touch of red) dresses. The lace boots were a great idea. It will be interesting to see what ends up in the movie. Although so far the movies haven’t really stuck to the movie (like Edwards tux).

I love # 7. A few others would work, but some (like the PINK?? one) do not fit at all.
    I vote for # 7. Wait, do I get a vote??????

I like 2, 5 or 7..don’t like the pink one at all. And the others seem too modern for Stephenie’s description of the dress.

I think some of them are just too modern, especially the one with a very low back….that one is so not Bella. I just hope they stay true to the book also and not do something too modern. It Has to look like it came from the 1900s era!

I agree with most of you, that these are way too modern. Have any of these designers seen Anne of Green Gables? That’s the inspiration, right?

Monique Lhuillier design, wow, that is a beautiful dress! And so Jane Austin and the right time period. It fits the bridal dress for breaking dawn. I can’t see any others close to being “the one” for the wedding dress.

I totally agree! It looked like an angry animal!! Honestly, none of these looks were what I envisioned in my mind. Bella says she looks her Anne of Green Gable dream. So, I am thinking more lace and covered up.

I agree Dark-Angel as soon as I saw #2 and #7… I thought… “those could work.” They are the closest to the description in the book and are most like Bella.

I’m not ‘feeling’ any of them. I think the designer’s ideas are WAY too modern. The impression I got of Bella’s dress was that it was turn of the century, romantic, soft, feminine and “looked like an inverted calla lily”. I can so see the dress as I watch Anne of Green Gables. There is something to be said for a simple, classic ,elegant dress. I so hope that Stephanie is involved with Bella’s dress for Breaking Dawn. It looks like they are definitely going to need her.
