Access Hollywood talked to Catherine Hardwicke last night at the Teen Choice Awards about Bryce Dallase Howard replacing Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria in Eclipse.

I now have a sick headache. Rachelle should be Victoria but it’s a moot point now.
Rachelle will and should always be a part of Twilight. It’s a fact and part of the whole fandom now and forever.
I’m sure Bryce Dallas Howard will do her best and the movie will turn out fine.
Inevitably Catherine Hardwicke’s comments will be misquoted and used to stir up gossip. [sigh]

Hmmm…sooooo…They wanted Bryce Dallas-Howard originally, but she turned them down because the part was too small and NOW that it is to the juicy part for Victoria she is IN? I’m thinking that is not going to sit well with many fans. I don’t think anyone needs to misquote Catherine, I think she simply spoke the truth. Actions speak louder than words anyways, and the actions of the replacement and the studio are loud and clear.

Yes, i concur Mrs. B… I was actually pretty neutral on the matter. Sad that Rachelle got the boot, but absolutely open to Bryce, thinking she had no part in it. But the way Catherine said it here (unless she worded it in a way she didn’t actually mean) it actually kinda DOES throw a bad light on Ms Dallas-Howard. That kind of saddens me a little… but regardless:
I can’t wait for the movies

Catherine makes me smile…she seems like such a in-the-moment person. I think she probably would have liked to have edited what she said differently but you know what, she speaks the truth. Obviously they had wanted her the first time, Bryce turned them down, and now, gee, the franchise is so big, of course she wants to sign on.
Oh well. What is done is done and they’ve already started rehearsals with Bryce, according to Peter Facinelli, so I think it is too late to undo the casting. I’m just going to have to accept it, but I’m still very sad for Rachelle. She was such an outspoken person for the series, and I don’t think I will be able to watch any interviews with Bryce without thinking of Rachelle getting the boot, and how bad I feel for her.

LOL I was trying hard not to be bitter in my previous post.
But dang it!
Summit did this because they knew they could and BDH probably expressed interest in the role. People will still see the films and new fans are coming into it all the time. Twilight has enough momentum now to withstand something like this so there are no consequences to Summit’s bottom line. I’m still very disappointed by the heavy-handed and dark business side of this.

It will be interesting to see what Summit Entertainment AND B.D. Howard will respond to C.Hardwicke’s comments.

Summit’s not going to respond to Hardwicke’s comments. Why should they? They know they can do whatever they want and the Twi-hards are going to still come. No matter how pissed off we are, they know we can’t do anything about it. I wish there was some ramification to Summit for being stupid and greedy. Money goes to the head quickly, doesn’t it? You’re a small indy film company, you get a mega hit, and suddenly you can walk on water and OVER anyone you want. I feel sorry for Rachel, BDH will NEVER be my Victoria. You don’t treat people like that, and being too good for a “small” part in the 1st 2 movies yet good enough for the major part in the 3rd – I don’t think so, any respect I might have had for BDH is gone. I’m still hoping Rachelle’s legal eagles are good and, if they can’t get her role back, then they at least make Summit PAY for their greed. THANK YOU TWILIGHT MOMS for posting this. Not sure if it was because of my email or not, but THANKS, the fans deserve to know what a bunch of crap Summit is feeding to us with their “scheduling conflict” BS.

I think this is total bull. Seriosly, I though that Rachelle made a perfect Victoria and now they want to get rid of her. Wth, If this other girl didnt want the part cuz of fame and money then she should stay out of it. Find another saga to do. Honestly, cant they eva make a series or saga witout changing up the cast. I can understand changing the head master in Harry Potter to another actor cuz the first one died, but this is not the same. Wut would they do if the other guy they wantd to play Edward walkd up and was like “Hey, I can play Edward now.”, wut would they changed Edward on us. Victoria in my mind is just as important as the Cullens and the towns people of Forks. Its just plan bc. Ridiculas!
