Fansite Friday- New Moon Set visit

Back in April Kara (aka illumin8) had the opportunity to visit the New Moon set with several other fansites.  Today we, along with those other sites, are launching Fansite Fridays.  For the next several weeks each site will be posting reports and interview transcripts from the set visits.  The participating sites are HisGoldenEyes, TwilightersAnonymous, TwilightLexicon, TwilightSeriesTheories and TwilightSource.  Make sure you stop by each of their sites and read their reports.

We were driven an hour or so from the hotel- the further we went the more we speculated as to what we were going to see. Would there be Volutri, Edward, werewolves???- then was we kept driving we thought maybe Summit is just going to throw us back over the border and the whole thing was a scam as we got closer to set you could see people lined up on the road-  some in sleeping bags some on blankets- all with cameras in hand just waiting to see who might be coming or going- our van was photographed multiple times there are bound to be some very disappointed teenagers when all their pictures show are Kimmy (HGE) and I talking about how we are only 10 miles to the US border.

It was twilight when we arrived at the location as we got out of the van we looked down to the end of the road where everyone was in shadow- backlight by a huge 20ft high silk to highlight Bella’s house. It looked like a midnight sun with actors and cars in shadow. It felt as if a large moon had landed on the road to highlight the scene.

We were greeted by the location manager who gave us our credentials and walked us down to the set- as we walked down we could see Bella’s house glowing in the darkness and the back yard behind her house that opened to the woods behind…. Little did we know walking up the long road to Bella’s house we were about to spend hours with the director, producer, and leader of the wolf pack….
