In this interview with MTV Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner discuss the complex relationships and breakups in New Moon.

MTV: Kristen, in your opinion, how is the relationship between Bella and Jacob in “New Moon” different than the one between Edward and Bella in “Twilight”?

Kristen Stewart: It’s such a different relationship; it’s like entirely original.

MTV: It seems much more playful.

Stewart: Yeah, exactly. They’re light; they actually have fun with each other. Edward and Bella are always so strange, you know?

Taylor Lautner: It’s always so tense.

    I was also confused about this scene when I saw it in the trailer. I kept saying but but but they don’t kiss until Eclipse! Back up Jacob!

    Probably in the kitchen when they are about to kiss right before the phone rings and it’s Edward! Awwww… the suspense is killing me! I can’t wait another 86 days!!!

    If I remember right, in New Moon they do almost kiss but it doesn’t happen. I bet Bella backs off in the scene or something happens that distracts them.

    i agree i think this is when they almost kiss
    i don’t understand why they are comparing the relationships the reason why Bella and Edward’s is so intense is because for one he is always resisting the call of her blood and also he truly cannot live without her she is his life completely and i am not trying to say that Bella doesn’t care for Jacob it is just that she cannot live without Edward he is a part of her body and soul and there is nothing stronger than that bond. I am rambling but oh well can’t help it

    GASP…can’t believe I forgot about the “almost kiss” right before Edward calls. Guess I was too busy focusing on when my Edward was coming back to grasp that lol.

    Although Bella can not live without Edward she also can not let live without Jacob, She can not let him go because he has some hold on her that she can not even explain to herself. There really is no comparison in the two relationships.
    The almost kiss, yep that has to be it. Wow, that looks like one great almost kiss!

      And to think of the sceen that will happen after, when Bella leaves Jacob just standing there to go save Edward. Awe, it breaks my heart to think about it. I have always been Team Switzerland, but I must say, Jacob is growing on me. Edward gets VERY possesive in Eclipse. It’s too much. I can’t wait to see Taylor really take on Jacob Black. HOW many more days??????

    I don’t like that Kristen says Bella and Edward’s relationship is strange. They are light and have fun once they are together – it just didn’t seem that way in the first movie because they left out alot of their relationship. Talking in the car for hours, them kissing and how elated Edward is after their first run back from the meadow, many nights in her room….
