Falling in love with Twilight

Boston.com has a fantastic article posted by Beverly Beckham about her experience with reading and falling in love with the Twilight Saga as an adult. (I think we can all relate, right?)
Lots of people turn up their noses at books that have mass appeal. It can’t be good if everyone’s reading it. That’s the mindset. But this series is good and not just because it tells a compelling story, moves at a face pace and is full of characters you care about. It’s good because it’s all about love. Teenage love is the crux, of course, Bella and Edward, the books’ stars, but it is also about parental love and sisterly love and the love of friends and family, and most dramatically, the love that can displace hate when old enemies become friends.

Yes, I am a TwiMom (twilight mom); fell in love with the story (and with Edward too!- sigh..) . I read the books over and over, and count the days until the New Moon movie comes out. I am so obsessed!

Beautiful article! So well said! It’s always been so hard for me to defend my Twilight obsession, but she articulates it so well!

I feel the same. I have read these books 3 times and everytime I fall more and more in love with these characters. I went through some personal things this past May and Twilight took me out of my world and to a place that made me feel so many wonderful things. I would say I am going to my happy place and everyone would know what I was talking about. Instead of hitting the booze (as so many times I really wanted too) I would pick up the books and read and read. Thank you Stephenie Meyers for writing such beautiful books and making a place that could make me so happy when my real life was falling apart around me.
