Happy Birthday Bella!
Posted on 13. Sep, 2009 by AmyO in News
Today is Isabella Marie Swan Cullen’s birthday and we have a special post to make in her honor. A post that humbles me and makes me proud to be a part of this amazing organization of women.
Many of you will recall the Twilight Quilter’s Coven and their stunning award winning Twilight Inspired Quilt. These women are amazing! They are in the process of making a New Moon Quilt that will be auctioned at The New Moon Experience in Salt Lake City, Utah on November 19th & 20th. All proceeds from that auction will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. All the materials, labor and talent are being donated by these women.
I’ve been watching the progress of the the New Moon Quilt on their blog and have been blown away with the design and craftsmanship. Today I received an email with the newest quilt block in it and I thought it was so appropriate that it arrived in my inbox on Bella’s Birthday. The newest addition to the quilt is none other than Bella’s birthday cake-

Isn’t it gorgeous?!?! Here’s what Iris, the woman who made the square had to say about it:
I wanted to stay true to the books, and yet loved the movie version of the cake, so this is a hybrid of the two….3 tiered with “fondant” strips, fresh flowers, and a shinny name topper, but pink, pink, and more pink as only Alice can do!
Please take a moment to visit the Twilight Quilter’s Coven’s site and see their work. You can see the layout and the completed New Moon Squares here. The TQC also received some really exciting news about their Twilight Quilt today. Read all about it here.

Really gorgeous. I actually like this design for cake better than the movie one. : ) I kind of think the set designer did not read the book. The fans know these books backwards and forwards, so I still don’t see the appeal of changing what was written. It was a very nice touch in this case, though, to incorporate ideas from both. Great job!
