In an interview with the NY Times Twilight Saga Musical Supervisor, Alexandra Pastavas, talks about the feel of the New Moon soundtrack, confirmed tracks, when the final track list will be announced and much more.
“This is a much more somber movie than ‘Twilight,’ ” Ms. Patsavas said. “There is a lot of love lost, so the artists that are going to make up the soundtrack reflect that longing — a lot of acoustic instruments, a lot of a cappella singing. This soundtrack definitely feels a bit more indie than the last one.”

Give us some Blue October on the soundtrack please!!!! They have to make it on at least New Moon and definitely on Breaking Dawn (if it happens).

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for at least Hate Me on New Moon and My Never on Breaking Dawn. Of course I’m a Blue October addict so they could put all of their songs that are on Stephenie’s playlists and I would be happy

Wow… now I know that I’m getting older — I’m only a 33 year old mom, but I already thought the last soundtrack was fairly “indie” — If it was mainstream, I must be really out of it
Now I’m nervous I won’t recognize or relate to any of the music on the new one if it’s even more indie than the last. Oh well

I am so psyched about the music that’s been announced so far. Thom Yorke!! Bon Iver (I discovered them last year and fell in love). I’ve been listening to Band of Skulls non-stop. Also dig “Meet Me at the Equinox”.
Thank goodness their not entertaining mainstream acts like Kelly Clarkson (nothing against her). At one point I heard she was being promoted. I’m sure everyone’s wanting to get on the soundtrack.
Make it something special. That means not trying to appeal the masses. There are plenty of us who will get it and will love it!

Call me a freak, but I would have liked New Moon or Eclipse to have something that would be a lasting tribute. I like Rick Springfield’s Oblivious and Time Stand Still. And I still hope that Rob will sing something.
