Peter Facinelli’s Lemonade Stand

Posted on 22. Sep, 2009 by in News

This is one of those stories that makes me proud to be a Twilight fan.  This past Sunday Peter Facinelli was in New York for an autograph and photo session.  The event was also a lemonade stand for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

For those of you that aren’t sure what Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is here is their vision-

  • To raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily research into new treatments and cures.
  • To encourage and educate others, especially children, to raise money for childhood cancer by holding their own Alex’s Lemonade Stands.
  • To expedite the process of finding new cures and bringing them to children with cancer now.
  • You can learn more about Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation here.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is the official TwilightMOMS charity so when I heard the Peter Facinelli was supporting them I was thrilled!  My favorite Twilight cast member supporting a cause so near to my heart? It took all I had not to book a flight to New York!  From the reports I’ve heard from TwilightMOMS that were there the event was very well attended and a huge success.  I just heard from our contact at the Foundation and Peter’s Stand on Sunday made almost $7000!!  Isn’t that amazing?!!?!

Thank you Peter for supporting such an amazing cause and thank you to all of you that attended and made the event such a success!  With support like yours one day Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation will accomplish it’s goal to find a cure for all children with cancer

Peter Facinelli is awesome! He came to Fort Lewis a couple months back for a viewing of Twilight when it released to DVD and he was just so gracious. He jumped off the stage to sign autographs and take pictures. Then later, he signed DVD’s at the PX (shopping center) and stayed until 2am so that everyone who wanted an autograph got one. It’s nice to see someone with such influence put so much effort into community service and even show support for our military. Thanks Peter!
