Breaking Dawn Rumors

Posted on 12. Oct, 2009 by in News

There have been rumors flying all over the internet this past weekend about the Breaking Dawn movie being made.  We just received a statement from Summit Entertainment stating that these rumors are false

Summit is very good about communicating with the Twilight fandom so if there is anything official to report I promise you we’ll post it here.

*Updated* Due to several comments that have been left on this post I thought I should clarify- the statement from Summit was in regards to rumors that surfaced on several sites this weekend about Breaking Dawn being greenlit, Breaking Dawn casting and Breaking Dawn filming locations.  Those are the particular rumors they contacted us about.  There has been no official statement made yet as to whether or not Breaking Dawn is going to be made.

I think it would be hard to make due to Renesmee and filming it in a timely manner so all the actors don’t look any older than they currently are, not to mention everyone’s film schedules. It would be sad to only have three of the four books converted to film.

I was worried about the aging thing too, then DH reminded me about Benjamin Button. They’ll be fine — but let’s get this scheduled! Ante up, Summit!

I’d like to see Midnight sun more than Beaking Dawn. I wasn’t a big Twilight Movie fan and want to see it remade now with a better budget.

Breaking Dawn should be delayed…. the current cast needs some breathing room.

I think Midnight Sun would be interesting, but with a completely different cast. The current cast is too old in appearance. Also, the unusual perspective of Midnight Sun will offer the opportunity to bring in new faces without disrupting the Twilight Saga.

Wow, what an interesting idea… Midnight Sun with new actors. I think that would be fresh and exciting.

If they make Breaking Dawn ,I hope thy do not! hafe to
make two movies. some how movie makers think
we can only sit for 2 hours.Well Gone With The Wind was4
with an inturmistion.I think it should be done. I do’nt think it will be as hard as everyone thinks. And I do’nt think Summit
would wont to loss out on all that money they could make!

Unless “they” decide to conclude EC with a happily ever after ending, I have no concerns about BD not being made into a film.

    1) It’s money making potential is huge
    2) There would be an outcry from fans if it was held off so long that the orginal crew had to be recast (you just can’t do three movies with RP and the final one w/o him).
    3) RP and KS are really good friends with great onscreen chemistry. Summit will probably want to finish filming of the movies before RP and KS go on to seperate parts of the world to do other projects and grow apart. That chemistry they have now may not always be there and I don’t doubt that that is a concern for Summit and even Meyer.

So, while everyone likes to speculate, we should probably all just calm down, think about things cast members have said about BD in interviews, think about the rational behind doing it or not doing it and wait. We have two great projects coming out to distract us in the mean time!

Very good perspective. Until it is scheduled I will be vaguely on edge but everything you say makes sense. With RP becoming such a huge star I worry that he won’t have “time” to mak the film, but assuming things go well with the other two presumably they will ante up to free up some of his time. :) And more power to him. I’d love to know the story behind the story but just being a garden variety person I’ll have to just buy my NM tickets (oh yeah — I already did!) and keep fingers crossed. I think midnight sun, while I would LOVE to see it made into a movie, is a long shot since SM has still not even finished the book!

Breaking Dawn is the epitom of hyper bowl!!! it has to be made

  7. Very interesting indeed. I can’t see any reason why they wouldn’t option it. Unless they are going to split it into two movies maybe?

I agree with just making the book one long movie. Heck, most of that book is in Jacobs head anyways. How much film time will that take to potray? And where would you make the cut? I think people would kill themselves if they stopped, say right when Bella’s heart stops. Women/girls would be throwing themselves off of tall buildings!
