Grand Rapids Press Interviews Michael Welch

A guest blogger for the Grand Rapids Press had the chance to do a 15 minute phone interview with Michael on Friday, and posted about their conversation.
I had just viewed the trailer for his new movie, “Unrequited.” He plays an 18-year-old psychopath who terrorizes his former girlfriend; a major departure from his character of Mike Newton. He told me that it is “definitely heavier and more intense.” I had to laugh when he compared it to Mike Newton “if he had snapped” because of his unrequited love for Bella.
He did balk a bit when I touched on the subject of “Eclipse,” not wanting to reveal anything about the movie. I switched gears a bit and asked him if we could look forward to the “vomiting in the back seat of Jacob’s car” scene in “New Moon.” Again, just briefly intimating that the movie follows the book “closely.”
