Jamie Campbell Bower Suggests Tim Burton for Breaking Dawn
Posted on 05. Nov, 2009 by Amanda31 in News
A couple days ago we shared with you some fansites’ thoughts on who should direct “Breaking Dawn” and asked for your opinions. Well now Jamie Campbell Bower is throwing his opinion in there, too, and his vote is for Tim Burton!
“It’d be cool if Burton came and did ‘Breaking Dawn,’ ” Campbell Bower told MTV News of his “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” director. “I think he’d just change it up. I think he’d screw around with it quite a lot, and aesthetically, I think it’d be incredibly different. I don’t know if the fans would like it, but I’d sure like it.”
Read the rest of the MTV article here. How would you feel about Tim Burton directing Breaking Dawn?

Ack! NO! Yeah, that’s just what we fans need…a director who will “screw around with it a lot”! Jamie isn’t gaining any brownie points here! Which suggests to me that he doesn’t really have a grasp of what the entire series is all about. Beware the ire of the Twi-fans!

I love Tim Burton movies but I don’t want to see him do “Breaking Dawn.”! The great thing about Tim Burton movies is that he has a fantastic vision because I’d like the movie to be very true to Stephanie’s book.

No! what is this person thinking? Burton will only butcher this wonderful piece to the Saga with making unnessarily dark!

Totally agree. Tim Burton makes wonderful, fantastical movies, but through his own vision (look at the clips from Alice in Wonderland). But not Breaking Dawn – PLEASE – not Breaking Dawn. That book is my favorite of the four and I would be very upset if the movie went off into another dimension!

No one would want the movie overhauled so much that it was so different from the book. Summit probably wouldn’t see as many fans at the box office.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Tim Burton. In fact, I think he’s a genius. However, I do NOT think he’s the director for Breaking Dawn. I don’t think Summit would even consider it; just Jamie.
Remember when Jamie told the story that the Volturi would appear nude in New Moon? Appears he’s a bit of a jokester.

O.K. Well…..I’m sure he is going to make a fine Volutri but somebody needs to wake this boy up. I LOVE Tim and think he is great, but SOOOOo NOT for this! NOOOOOO! 2 more weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

NO WAY!!! Jamie must not understand us fans very much one thing we all can agree on it we do not and i repeat do not want some director to come in and change things up! Tim Burton should not even begin to consider the idea of directing Breaking Dawn I think it would probably start a fan riot. Sorry Jamie but you have the wrong idea and you do not understand just how much these books and the story means to us all. Maybe he needs to become a member to one of the many fan sites and read the blogs.

As much as I love Tim Burton’s quirky works (i.e. “Nightmare Before Christmas”, “Edward Scissorhands”, etc….) I really don’t believe his talents would be well-served in “Breaking Dawn”. But on the converse, I don’t think “Breaking Dawn” would be well-served by Tim Burton’s talents. Just NOT a good match.

Oh, Jamie, bad move. How about we change up Caius in BD! Just kidding, but really not a good thing to upset fans! And I don’t like the way Tim Burton puts black stripes on everything! I can just imagine the Voluturi marching over the hill in black and white vertical striped robes surrounded by crooked leafless trees hung with an occasion red-but-otherwise-nondescript fruit.

NO, NO, NO, NO!!!!!!!!! Vehemently, passionately…NOOO!!!!
TB would be an absolutely horrible, incredibly suicidally moronic choice for directing Breaking Dawn!!! I can’t even believe that Summit would seriously consider him for one minute – this has to be another one of Jamie’s jokes…..PLEASE tell us it’s a joke!!

I ADORE Tim Burton, but……NO!! His style is not appropriate for these books/movies. Gotta say I’d like Chris Weitz….
