Taylor Lautner in Rolling Stone

Posted on 25. Nov, 2009 by in News

Rolling Stone’s latest issue features someone we all recognize, Taylor Lautner. The magazine has a Q&A with Taylor, along with a behind-the-scenes video from the photo shoot (you have to scroll down a bit to see it) and a photo gallery.

Don’t you think that when some fans see New Moon, they may be disappointed, because you’re kind of the villain in a way.
TL: I have some pretty passionate team Jacob fans [laughs].

But when your character hangs up on Edward in New Moon, it sets off the whole chain of events that almost lead to a major tragedy. That’s something a villain would do.
TL: Yes. that is part of Jacob’s character. He can’t really control himself. When he gets mad, he gets mad. And all Jacob has on his mind is on Bella. That’s who he cares for. That’s who he loves. If somebody gets in his way, it’s not good. And he will explode. So I guess you could see that either way.

I understand the book’s appeal: it’s a great fantasy for someone to have two powerful good-looking guys who can have anybody fighting over her. It’s a classic romance, with fangs and fur heightening it.
TL: Definitely. And I admit proudly that I enjoyed the series. I was not a book reader at all. But then when I read them, they hook you. I feel like each book, and more so the movies, are just getting more exciting and better and better. With New Moon, you know, it’s not just the love story between these two anymore. Now there are three people, and it’s dangerous.

Check out the rest of the article here to see what Taylor has to say about Quil imprinting and which book of the series is his favorite (it’s mine too!).

One photo in this gallery poses the question: Is it too sexy for a seventeen year old boy? You know the one I mean. Miley was posed too sexy at 15. Is there a double standard? The young man is hot to alot–alot of teen girls, but is it too far? He complains about having to take his shirt off for photo shoots and yet he is still doing it. You can say no. You don’t have to be an adult to make an adult decision.

I am not so sure he is complaining about having to take of his shirt. Joking about Jacob taking his shirt off to help Bella’s bleeding wound is more what he is doing. And it IS funny! My issue is all the reports of Twilight Mom’s turning into cougars and going after him. Are we not allowed to say that he looks amazing in these photos? Yeah, he is 17, but seriously…does that make us cougars or worse? Will it be “okay” to say it in February when he turns 18? If so, than I shall bite my tounge and wait til then to say he looks incredible and I am extreamly jeleous of all the young girls out there because there were NEVER and I mean NEVER guys as cute and cut as he is in when I was a teenager. Enjoy!

I agree with you Mrs. B! I really hate the designation ‘cougar’ put on women who find younger men attractive. It doesn’t mean we are stalking them or dating them! The name sounds very degrading to me. After all, what does that make all the men who are going after younger women? Shall we start calling them wolves? Or grizzlies? Society still has a serious double standard when it comes to men and women’s ages. I’m sorry they put that word in Bella’s mouth in the film. BTW I still think of Taylor as a kid. A nice looking kid, but still a kid.
