TwilightMOMShad the opportunity to interview Steve Schiltz aka Hurricane Bells, whose song Monsters, is on the New Moon Soundtrack. Here’s a snippet of the write up-
So you may be wondering how the song ‘Monsters’ foundits way onto the New Moon soundtrack, right? Through Longwave, Steve is a writer with Chrysalis Music Publishing, who pitches their music to movies. (Cool side note: One of Longwave’s songs was in the Adam Sandler movie, ‘I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry’.) A couple of months ago, Steve’s manager Chris called him up and said Chrysalis is looking for something, an exclusive that won’t be on a record. Steve sent a few unreleased Longwave songs and a few demos he was working on himself. In mid-September Chris called again saying a movie was interested in the song ‘Monsters’. Steve’s response was “alright don’t tell me what it is until it happens”. It wasn’t until his second edit of the song that he found out it was for the sequel to the movie Twilight, which of course he’d heard of. After another round of edits and no news, Steve wasn’t sure his song had even made the final cut. It wasn’t until the news was announced publicly that Steve actually found out he had made it onto the soundtrack! One of his Longwave band mates saw the news online, and called him up to congratulate him!
