I just saw New Mon and I have to say Chris did a great job with it compared to the first movie, Twilight. So, I would vote Chris in this case of making Breaking Dawn. You saw just how much great work he put into this movie and how much improvement the actors achieved under his direction. Really, a great job.

Everyone says Chris becasue of the limited amount of trailer footage. I say Peter Jackson. Chris is great with CGI, but only peter could have an entirely real character be CGI. There is no other way to produce the fast growing Renesme without CGi, and that could be done by Peter

So to sum up one long movie 3 directors,an intermission(this all worked for Gone With the Wind)but here’s the angle I’d like to see , we view most of the third part through Bella’s eyes meaning camera vantage point.Partly because It would seem like it when she awakens to seeing everything through vampire eyes,but also we can imagine that we are Bella but u have to have the moment with Alice & Bella when she looks into the mirror after transformation so we can see her in all her glory

OK but what I would love to see for BD ,to break it up into 3 parts like the book,let Catherine Hardwicke have a crack at it with a big budget and all the romance ,remember she’s responsible for Rob being Edward.Chris Weitz gets Jacob’s point of view,the part with the most humor that Chris seems to be a natural at.Then u have an old fashion intermission for human needs and finish up with David Spade or Cameron and

I know Tim Burton scares some people,but his movie Big Fish was so touching,really should see it and he also has experiance with cgi.I think the most important thing is to replace Melissa Rosenberg as screen writer, unless she brought it up a notch on NM and Eclipse .

I’ve been seeing ppl talking about Tim Burton directing “Breaking Dawn”, and I have to say, the idea chills me to the core. I love the story that Stephenie Meyer wrote, and with a director like Burton at the helm, I don’t know if the end result be even remotely recognizable. Please don’t let that be true.

RIght now, I would like Chris to direct Breaking Dawn. Hopefully that doesn’t change after I see New Moon. I would like to see a different person do the screen play. I’m really hoping the dialog is better in new Moon because I thought alot was missing in Twilight. I’m also really hoping they do decide to break Breaking dawn up into two movies. I think the first movie should end right after Bella has Reneesme. Then the next one should start with her waking up as a vampire and finish with the Vulturi. The book is too long not to have two movies. But if I had to choose between one movie with the original actors or two movies with different ones. I’d rather have one movie.

I have to say that I see the logic Summit has used in choosing different directors. Catherine was good for the first one because it dealt with this first love. Though, I was dissapointed originally that many things I felt were important were not in the movie. What I have seen so far of New Moon is very exciting! The look of the film is very different. I think Chris got much more out of his actors this go around (or maybe they have had more time to develop the characters more true to book). And what he did with the meeting of the Volturi is excellent. I see the logic in picking David Spade for Eclipse because of the gorry nature of the battle. I disagree with all but one of those that were named to directed BD. Breaking Dawn is NOT a graphic novel, HELLO! The first third of the book is romance and motherhood. The second part is heartbreak ~ Jacob and Edwards. And the last part is an awaking for Bella ~ waking up the person who she really is and fighting for her family. I think Chris Weitz has already tackled all three of these situations in New Moon. He would be my pick for Breaking Dawn.

AND NOW FOR SOME BEGGING (I ain’t to proud to beg)…PLEASE, OH PLEASE, SUMMIT, FOR ALL THAT WE LOVE OF BELLA, EDWARD, JACOB, ALICE, JASPER, EMMETTE, ROSALIE, CARLISE, ESME, CHARLIE, BILLY, RENESME, THE WOLF PACK, THE VOLTURI, THE HUMANS (well, maybe not Mike Newton and Jessica…they really are annoying!), J. BD will be the hardest to film due to Nessie’s growing spurts and the length of the novel. I hope they do film it sooner than later since it’s probably hard to fit the Cullens, wolves and Volturis’ schedules. I would think for the final film you’d want all the same actors / actresses again. Maybe Stephenie M. will get a hand in choosing only time will tell.

I hope a woman directs BD – there’s so much about family and motherhood in the story that the director will need to be sensitive to.

I get the impression that they are waiting for the fans to show their support before they announce BD. Remember how we stormed the theatres for TW, partially in hopes they would green light New Moon? I don’t think they are going to give us everything at once. Financially, it’s better to keep us hoping and wishing. Other than making sure it is still a financially viable–BD has a lot of other little details to iron out if it is to transfer to film. Picking the right director will be of paramount importance.

(I wonder if anyone will bother to read this far down?)

As of right now, I’m leaning towards Chris Weitz. Nothing but love for Catherine Hardwicke, and I know we’ve yet to see even a glimpse of David Slade’s work, but there’s something about Chris. He’s definitely won me over. With as much CG that’s going to be involved in Breaking Dawn I really think Chris is our man.

how does one know he ruined New Moon when one hasn’t seen it? That’s the power of positive thinking for you! Everything I’ve seen looks 100 times better than Twilight was. I liked Twilight, but it was NOT done justice, even with the low budget it had. Doing the story justice had nothing to do with budget and big sets, it had to do with dialogue and story set up, and IMO that was all Catherine’s lack of judgment.

I would like to see the next two movies before I make a decision. It seems that Chris Weiz and David Slade followed the books more closely than Catherine Hardwicke. I did like some of the suggestion of David Yates, he did a good job directing HP movies. I am glad Catherine bowed out of the next movie, she did not produce a great movie and I think if she did New Moon it would not have the intensity and stunning visuals that Chris Weiz put into the movie.

I kindly disagree with the Peter Jackson suggestion.

Again, I don’t think they can wait for Eclipse before making a directing decision, can they? Doesn’t that put the production of the film, which we don’t know will happen, too far into the future for our non-aging cast? Plus, if it’s going to be made, I’m sure they’ll want to get it done and get it over with. I think many of them are ready to move on – God Bless ‘em.

I’ve always voted for Guillermo del Toro, but I’m not sure I see him for Breaking Dawn. How about Jane Campion? She certainly can make a great PG-rated romance. Loved Bright Star. Love Jane Campion.
