Anna Kendrick Talks About Her And Jessica’s Future After ‘Eclipse’

Posted on 08. Feb, 2010 by in News

MTV has just posted a great article about Anna and where she sees herself in the future. Her career is certainly taking off after her Oscar nomination for “Up in the Air.” Check it out to get the scoop on Anna.

What does she have to say about her role as Jessica Stanley?

“I honestly feel like Jessica is one of those characters that if she wasn’t in the movie, nobody would miss her,” she said. “At the same time, I feel a certain affection for the films so if they ask me, I would love to. I don’t have my fingers crossed either way.”

What do you think? MTV has asked: Would you miss Anna Kendrick if she didn’t appear in “Breaking Dawn”?

I think that Jessica is very important to the movies. She adds comic relief and is a connection to the “real” world. I think that Anna plays Jessica perfectly and I really hope that she’s in Breaking Dawn. We have to have some of her great comments at the wedding :)

Anna as Jessica was a highlight of Twilight and New Moon. How ridiculous that Summit hasn’t nailed things down, including their top humans.

    Greetings from Canada

The Olympics are here and we welcome the World.

Jessica is a terrific part of the Twilight Saga. Jessica is fun, somewhat egocentric, and lovable. Jessica and Bella’s friendship is a definite escape for Bella.

As for Anna Kendrick, she is an amazing actor, and many of us look forward to supporting her by going to see her movies. She deserves the opportunities that are coming her way because of her commitment to her discipline.

Congratulations on your nomination as Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards.

She is really only at the wedding in this book, (back with mike) so it would not take up much of anna’s time. But I must say I assumed with all the acknowledgement over Up in the air – that this would happen.. I hope she as an actress and having been in the saga from the beginning I would hope she would remain, thou I truly hope, that in a long standing of actress’ that have one the Best Supporting Actress Oscar there careers fail after that – there is a statistic on this. So I hope over all that she does not win so that we can enjoy to see her career continue to grow. An continues to get press for being up for all of the awards, Golden, SAG and Oscars. She is obviously very talented.

I don’t think her recent success and surge in popularity has anything to do with her comments about the part of Jessica. I feel as though Anna knows that since Jessica is such a minor character in Breaking Dawn, there is probably a good possibility that Summit will emit that role to save money and to “keep the plot moving”. I think she doesn’t want to get her hopes up to being in a movie, only to be let down, which is why she is saying she’d be okay either way.

I personally would like to see Anna as Jessica in Breaking Dawn. She adds great comedic effect to the movie, and she knows how to deliver her lines. Also, there have been relationships that have developed between the human characters, and the Wedding is a sort of closure to those relationships. Breaking Dawn is all about Bella ending her life as a human and beginning it again as a vampire; there needs to be some sort of closure and ending to her human way of life besides the obvious biting and venom that will occur.

Liz, I agree with you 100%. You expressed what I was wanting to say exactly. I think the wedding needs to have Bella’s human friends for that exact reason. Also, from a visual perspective, think of the stark contrast between the humans and vampires who will fill the seats at the wedding!

She probably feels that her role in twilight is her true “calling” as far as roles go. Not only that but it was for sure her big break and skyrocketed her career.

I know Jessica doesn’t have a huge part in Breaking Dawn except in the wedding scene. That being said it’s not a huge part but she still should do itif Summit offers it to her. I’m happy she is getting success with Up in the Air but she needs to remember the Twilight Saga put her on the map and she does owe them. m I hope she doesn’t just disregard the Twilight fans. So i say if they want her, they should be able to have her.

I don’t think that Anna owes the Twilight fans anything. I would love her to continue the role because I like the way she portrays Jessica. But ultimately the presence of Jessica in BD isn’t Anna’s decision. It is the decision of the screenwriter and director.

Twilight didn’t really put her on the map. It gave her a lot of exposure but she’s been around for a while. Her role in ‘Up in the Air’ was written specifically for her by Jason Reitman after he saw her in Rocket Science, which came out in 2007.

If Jessica is in the movie, I think Anna will come back. She would only need to be on set for a couple of days. But honestly, I wouldn’t blame her if she didn’t. With all of the success that she has found, I feel like it would be a “step down” for her to do a movie where she is literally only going to have 1 or 2 lines at most.

Anna is SUCH a WONDERFUL actress, she adds so much more to the role of Jessica that wasn’t in the books – I couldn’t imagine the movies without her! I remember coming home after seeing Twilight the first time and thinking I was the most impressed with her and Billy Burke. Her comic timing is impeccable and she’s a joy to watch on screen. :)

I’m already imagining her reacting to Bella’s early engagement and wedding – hilarious!!
