Ashley Greene joins “Butter” with Jennifer Garner

Ashley, who just wrapped filming on her new thriller The Apparition, has joined the comedy Butter, a project produced by and starring Jennifer Garner.
According to Collider, the film centers on an Iowa woman (played by Jennifer Garner) who attempts to win a butter-carving title formerly held by her husband (Ty Burrell), only to be thwarted by a young black girl (Yara Ahahidi). Ashley will play a rebellious high school teenager named Kaitlen Pickler. The film’s premise is intended to mirror the 2008 Presidential Primary battle between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Jim Field Smith (She’s Out of My League) will direct from a screenplay by newcomer Jason Micallef. The script landed near the top of last year’s Black List (list of the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood).
The film will begin shooting in Louisiana next week.
