Do the Write Thing for Nashville

Many of you are aware of the catastrophic flooding in the Nashville Tennessee area. Myra McEntire, a young adult author, is from Nashville and is mobilizing the YA community to raise money for relief efforts. As we’ve seen in the past (Project Book Babe) the YA community is going above and beyond to help. They have some unbelievable auction items that have been donated (autographed books, advance reader copies of books, book trailers, critiques, the list goes on and on). Please take a few moments to stop by their blog to see what they have and to see what you can do to help.

Thank you for posting this. I live in the outlying areas of Nashville but live far enough from any rivers and creeks so I don’t have any flood damage. Its been a crazy week and efforts are still needed for the MANY families that have been displaced in over 52 counties in TN.

I was visiting my daughter who is in the Navy and is stationed in MIillington, TN, just outside of Memphis. Her home was flooded, as well as both our cars. I believe it might have been one of the most stressful episodes of my life. But it is kind of funny now, as the Navy rescue people came through telling everyone to evacuate and when we got outside (with water up to our thighs), amidst the thunder and lightening and sirens going off, they said tornado, take cover! So we went back inside and 5 minutes later they came back through in boats yelling evacuate! It was an experience to remember, but thank God we all got out alive and well. Some were not so lucky.

I love you Twilight Moms! Thank you for posting this! I’m originally from Franklin a town south of Nasvhille and my parents still live there. What’s happened to that amazing city is tragic. I wish I could be there to help with the clean up.

WOW. I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t know about the flooding in Nashville. Absolutely devastating. I’ll definitely be checking out their blog.

Thank you for posting this! My home was flooded and I didn’t have flood insurance because I wasn’t anywhere near a river. It’s going to cost tens of thousands to repair. And, the devastation city-wide is heartbreaking. We really can use all the support we can get! Thanks!
