Potential Renesmee Casting Update for Breaking Dawn

Entertainment Weekly’s Hollywood Insider is reporting that the role of Renesmee is very close to being filled by a 9-year-old actress named Mackenzie Foy:
Now EW.com has learned that little 9-year old Mackenzie Foy is inches away from signing on to play Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s vampire/human love child that’s a central role in the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.
It’s not yet clear how the diminutive actress, who’s appeared in one episode each of television shows FlashForward and ‘Til Death, will portray the character who ages a full 17 years in only seven. Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too.

If her hair was in ringlets I think it could be a good choice…also, she does not age to 17 in Breaking Dawn! CGI would help as the baby, she is adorable !!!!! Are her eyes brown?

Her eyes are green, so I’m hoping that if they cast her they plan to do something about that! Don’t let them change her eyes to match Edward!! I hate it when they take liberties like that!

In Breaking dawn renesmee only ages to about 2-3 years old, this little girl is adorable but isn’t she too old to play the role? Or are they planning on changing her age in the movie? I hope not this would take away from renesmee’s cutie-ness.

Looking at her video I think she looks small and tiny enough to pass for much younger child……it could work I think ……..hope they don’t change BD from the book.

I think ringlets would be a little too cloying and baby “pageant queen”. Please no more awful wigs (like Victoria’s)!
She looks very pretty, a bit like Kristen.

ok heres the thing whoever they pick it is never going to please everyone just like all the other charaters that have come b4. I don’t envy bill c at all in making this choice. I think with the make up (maybe including contacts?) and hair done and and the clothes and all, she could probably pull it off – she was v good in flash forward. At some point in time all of us have probably had doubts about someone they chose to play a character but it’s all come together – i think this time around i’m going to try and have a little more faith in the casting team and director

Sure Nessie is a tad younger in the book, but she has to be able to read her lines. I agree with EJ about her hair and Dark Angel’s comment about not pleasing everyone. I think that was very clear when we got a new Victoria for Eclipse.Since SM is a producer on this one, maybe she will have input on who plays this character since it the crux of BD2.

I know she is only supossed to age 2-3 years old but I think she looks pretty tiny. You would never know my niece is 8 she has ALWAYS looked years younger. So put some curls on this little one make her eyes the right color and call it a day, I’d be happy

this little chickadee almost looks like the Renesmee in my head!! Maybe a little older but very close.

I hope they don’t make her 17. That would not be right. Especially since at the big end scene she’s on Bella’s back being protected. She is a cuite though! Can’t want for BD!!
