Update on Eclipse DVD US and UK Release Dates

Posted on 09. Sep, 2010 by in News

While no official release date for the Eclipse DVD has been confirmed by Summit, VideoETA.com posted yesterday that the film would be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the US on December 4:

Summit will be releasing two versions in both DVD and Blu-ray formats. There will be a movie only version ($28.99 DVD / $34.99 Blu-ray suggested retail) and a feature-laden 2 Disc Special Edition ($32.99 DVD / $40.99 Blu-ray suggested retail). The 2 Disc Special Edition Blu-ray will also be a combo pack containing both DVD and Blu-ray versions of the film.

The special features are listed below:

DVD/BD Special Features (2-Disc & BD/DVD Combo Disc only)
2 Audio Commentaries: Rob Pattinson & Kristen Stewart; Stephenie Meyer
Deleted and Extended Scenes
Photo Gallery
6-Part Making of Documentary
Jump to… Your favorite scenes
Music Videos
PIP Commentary (BD only)

The DVD doesn’t seem to be available for preorder online yet, so I would consider the December 4 release date as a rumor at this point. However, it appears that HMV and Amazon UK have confirmed a UK release date of December 6 (which would make sense with a December 4 release date in the US, but could always be changed). Click on either of the links above to preorder the UK version from those websites.
