Kellan today posted a video on Your.MTV.com as part of MTV and Brittany Snow’s Love Is Louder campaign to let young people know that no matter what, there is always someone or something to rely on in the face of adversity.
“Hi, I’m Kellan Lutz, and I grew up feeling alone,” the “Twilight” star said in his video. “I’m from a big family, and I really wasn’t friends with my brothers. They loved to pick on me, but the thing is, I was never alone. Jesus was always there. Jesus is love, and love is louder.”
…In light of recent teen suicides linked to anti-gay bullying — specifically the death of Rutgers student Tyler Clementi — MTV partnered with Snow and the Jed Foundation (with support from DoSomething.org, the Trevor Project, Reach Out, Active Minds and the Ad Council) to create Love Is Louder and help spread messages of love and hope to teens who feel they might have run out of options.
