Updates on Breaking Dawn Filming in Brazil

We posted yesterday about RioFilme President Sérgio Sá Leitão tweeting confirmation that Breaking Dawn will be filming in Brazil in November. There are a couple updates today on filming plans, including a short article from O Globo (Brazil’s largest newspaper, Portuguese for The Globe) and more from Sérgio Sá Leitão via Twitter. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will be landing in the country next Friday, November 5. The information is in column “Good Guys”, the newspaper O Globo. The trio comes to town to recognize the field “and return this month to shoot. The Lapa is used as a backdrop.
According to Road Junky Travel, Lapa is a beautiful and rundown historic gem of Rio, full of dilapidated architecture and pulsing with character. Sounds like this setting would look great on film.

Good question! I’ve been wondering the same thing…maybe they’re shooting a scene other than the honeymoon scene there, or the newspaper got it wrong?
