Saturday Night Foodies Teams Up With Orange County Gourmet Food Trucks and Fellow Food Bloggers to Host Mobile Food Drive Benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank.
From the outside, Orange County appears to be a privileged community and yet according to the Second Harvest Food Bank, approximately 615,000 Orange County residents are at risk of going hungry each month. We as a foodie community have the power to bring awareness to the hunger problem taking place in our own backyard and really make a difference. We felt holding a food drive would be a great way give to those less fortunate.
Saturday Night Foodies will host a special food truck event Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m., in the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater parking lot (8808 Irvine Center Drive, Irvine, CA).
Celebrities helping to bring awareness to the hunger crisis in Orange County will be on hand to take pictures and sign autographs for a donation of 10 non-perishable canned or dry good items, per person. There will also be a silent auction, and participants will have the opportunity to bid on Lakers and Lady Gaga tickets, vacations, and autographed art, to name just a few. Event admission and parking are free.
Celebrities* participating in the special Drive Out Hunger OC DinDin-A-GoGo event at press time are:
- Ashley Argota (Nickelodeon’s True Jackson VP)
- Rachael Bell (Disney’s Suite Life on Deck)
- Doug Brochu (Sonny with a Chance)

I love when Celebrities come together for a good cause!!!
These are the kinds of people I want my son to look up to!
Not the Lindsey Lohan’s and the Paris Hilton’s…
They should see them doing good deeds for everyday people, not just the homeless and such, but people like them, who might have parents who are unemployed and need a little extra help.
I hope they keep up the positive attitudes and continue doing good, for EVERYONE in their communities, it’ll also teach more children to help out as well.
