AOL recently released their list of the hottest searches on 2010, including the year’s top movie searches. While the #1 most searched for movie was Alice in Wonderland, it’s no surprise that Eclipse is also included on the list in the #3 position.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Vampire wannabes were up all night for the June release of ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.’ The first ‘Twilight’ film to be released in IMAX, ‘Eclipse’ set the record for biggest midnight movie opening ever. Fans camped out for days before the L.A. premiere and debated over one important question: Team Edward or Team Jacob?

Rounding out the top 5 movie searches are Toy Story 3, Shutter Island and Iron Man 2. According to Moviefone, the top searches match up nicely to the top box office earners:

A large portion of this list correlates with the year’s top earners. So far, ‘Toy Story 3′ leads with $415 million domestically while ‘Alice in Wonderland’ is right behind with $334.2 million. ‘Iron Man 2′ is the third highest earner with $312.1 million while ‘Eclipse’ is in the fourth position with $300.5 million followed by ‘Inception’ with $292.3 million. In fact, the only film on Aol’s list that isn’t one of the 20 highest earners this year is ‘Sex and the City 2.’
