Most actors when staring in a animated movie they read their lines in a recording booth. Director Gore Verbinski had a better idea. For his upcoming animated film, Rango, about a chameleon with an identity crisis he had the actors dress up in old west gear and act out the movie in a 20 day shoot.
“It was just like rehearsing a high school play,” said Verbinski, best known for directing the first three “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies. “Why give up on what we do in live action?”
Johnny Depp takes the lead role as Rango and IMBD has Gil listed as playing “wounded bird”. The trailer looks adorable!
