Susanna White to Direct The Host Movie

It was previously reported that Andrew Niccol would be writing and directing the movie adaptation for The Host, but according to a new article in Variety, Susanna White will fill the director’s seat.
Exclusive: Susanna White (“Nanny McPhee Returns”) is attached to direct the feature adaptation of “The Host,” author Stephenie Meyer’s follow-up to “The Twilight Saga.”
Nick Wechsler will produce the indie through his eponymous banner, along with Chockstone Pictures’ Steve Schwartz and Paula Mae Schwartz.
Andrew Niccol (“The Truman Show”) wrote the sci-fi drama, which concerns a young woman whose body is inhabited by a benevolent alien soul after an invasion of Earth.

the way they said that it sounds like The Host is a follow up book to the Twilight Saga…maybe it is just me…but it just sounds weird.
But yay for a director. I can’t wait to see the movie!

I agree Jaidi, it did kinda sound like The Host was part of the. Twilight Saga…weird. I’m waiting [impaitently] for even an approx Host release date. But I assume it won’t happen until the last Twilight movie comes out…I’m very anxious for all of them

I’m thrilled that they’ve announced a director and am hoping we’ll get more Host related news soon. I loved The Host and am really excited for the movie adaptation!!
