The Wrap published an article discussing various YA novels that have been optioned by movie studios to be made into films. They evaluate each one to see if it has the potential for success similar to Twilight or Harry Potter. One of the books, Earthseed, has Melissa Rosenberg on hand as screenplay writer and producer.
“‘Twilight’ did really well as movies and suddenly everyone’s like, ‘Let’s get the next of that,’” Rosenberg told TheWrap. …
“A popular book is no guarantee,” said Rosenberg. “What works is good storytelling.”
