TwilightMOMS’ MTV Movie Awards Weekend

TwilightMOMS’ Kara was lucky enough to spend last weekend in Los Angeles for a Twilight-filled couple of days! Here’s her report on the amazing experience :)

TwilightMOMS, along with Twilighters Anonymous, Twilight Examiner, Twilight Lexicon, Twilight Source and Twilight Series Theories, were lucky enough to be invited by Summit to attend the MTV Movie Awards this past weekend. Following are some of the highlights of my trip – I wish I could have taken you all with me!

Where can I even start…we saw private screenings, ran around Universal CityWalk attended the MTV Movie Awards and the after party. It was an amazing Hollywood weekend!

The weekend started with a lovely dinner with Summit crew – we were wined and dined and informed of the amazing weekend events ahead… we also had some special dinner guests… Charlie Bewley and Erik Odom!! We talked about everything from Charlie’s charity run to what it was like for Erik to come in as one of the newest vampires- he plays Peter- and got some great info on the films to come…. but I can’t tell you anything about it- yet- I can tell you I am soo excited to see these movies from what I’ve heard they are not only really close to the book but they seem to be action packed- and full of well- headboards….

We started the next morning ****CENSORED****** sorry ladies there is soo much I want to tell you…. you will just have to wait a little while…….

We had a private screening of two new Summit movies coming out this summer: 50/50 and A Better Life. A Better Life is directed by Chris Weitz was absolutely amazing! Go see this movie and bring tissues- it’s a story reminds you to love your family and appriciate everything you have- things take for granted.

50/50 takes you through the ups and downs of a 27 year old with cancer – believe it or not its actually an uplifting and surprisingly funny story- first time I have ever liked Seth Rogen in anything- and shocking though it is, it’s possible to hate Bryce Dallas Howard!!

Saturday started by picking up our tickets for the MTV Movie Awards- when we got our tickets we found out- we were going to the afterparty!!! (fan girl squuee!!!) The rest of the day was spent shopping in the Grove (as seen on Access Hollywood) and dinner at Universal Studios – where we spied the red carpet getting ready for its roll out.Sunday was spent getting the Alice treatment getting ready for the awards. When we arrived at the show the red carpet was still going on and we were able to see a few of the stars from inside – but we couldn’t get good pics – (see my shot of Taylor through the second floor window).

As you saw from the show the entire evening was Twilight, Twilight, Twilight – they swept the awards, they dominated the conversation at the snack bar… we almost saw Rob and Taylor’s first kiss! Being at the event itself was amazing – the room is soo live and we spent the whole time star spotting – Rob looked lovely as always and Kristen looked amazing! She seemed to really be enjoying herself. I won’t rehash the entire evening for you – you had the best seat in the house on your TV. I will tell you when the trailer started I thought the roof was going to cave in from the screaming!! Oh My Headboard!! I know it looks good on TV but on the big screens at the awards it was even better!!!The afterparty was amazing except for the rain!!! It was a very Forks moment – started out drizzling then it poured then stopped then drizzled. The bad part was the rain kept most of the celebrities inside their little cabanas- there’s the regular people area and then an area off to the side where the stars meet and mingle behind large security guys – at the Eclipse after party these areas were on raised platforms so you could see the stars even if you couldn’t get close enough to speak with them – at the MTV after party the cabanas were almost hidden in the back and the charming but stern security team wouldn’t let me in. I did get to speak to Bronson and Kellan for about a minute – asked Kellan about the dogs – but didn’t get close enough to the trinity to speak with them.Despite the rain the food and drinks were amazing – I met a bunch of people from Summit who worked behind the scenes on the last two films and they were very informative… and reassuring – these last two films will truly be worth the wait! The saga is in good hands…there are more trailers to come soon and its only 161 days till the movie…

Thanks again to Ramzy, Jack and everyone at Summit for this once in a lifetime opportunity!! We can’t wait for November!!
