Variety is reporting that Billy Burke is joining the cast of Freaky Deaky.
In a major casting shakeup, “Twilight” thesp Billy Burke, Christian Slater, Michael Jai White and newcomer Breanne Racano have stepped in to replace Matt Dillon, Brendan Fraser, Craig Robinson and Katie Cassidy in Charlie Matthau’s action comedy “Freaky Deaky,” which has also added Roger Bart to its ensemble.
Burke is now set to play an LAPD bomb squad officer who stumbles upon two former hippie activists plotting to use their bomb-making skills to bilk a movie mogul out of millions.
Slater and Racano will play the ex-hippes, while White will play a former Black Panther turned capitalist who serves as an assistant to the Hollywood honcho. As for Bart, he’ll play a cop partnered with Burke.
Director Matthau adapted Elmore Leonard’s crime novel, which also garnered interest from Quentin Tarantino and John Malkovich years ago.
Burke recently appeared in WB’s “Red Riding Hood” and will reprise his role as Kristen Stewart’s father in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.”
