Taylor Lautner will be the face of one of three covers for the September issue of VMAN magazine.
In an interview with Elliott David, Lautner weighs the gravity of an adolescence spent filming and promoting the blockbuster vampire franchise. “I go to a beautiful city, spend the whole time in a hotel room, then I’m back on a plane to the next place,” he says.
UPDATE: MTV’s Hollywood Crush has more on Taylor’s feature in the magazine.
Opening up about what it was like to be so immersed in the “Twilight” world, he tells VMAN that it was his fellow cast members who made it all okay.
“It was really helpful that all of us were going through the same thing at the same time,” he said. “I think if we didn’t have that sort of relationship it would have been tough. It would have felt pretty lonely. Because when you’re filming for these ‘Breaking Dawn’ movies—we were filming for seven months—and if you’re there alone the whole time, even with the cast members, like on a day off, or on weekends, you’d go nuts.” …
In fact, we get the sense that Taylor’s still a little bewildered by the whole celebrity experience: the jetsetting, the whirlwind schedule, the crazed fans. But when it comes to the way fans react to him (we’re looking at you, Team Jacob), he’s quick to deflect any responsibility.
“It’s definitely these characters we’re playing. They are in love with Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black. I mean, they feel like they know them. We’re just lucky enough to be playing them. But I definitely think it’s the characters.”
