If you aren’t familiar with author Shannon Hale by now, you need to hurry and get familiar asap! She is fabulous! Hale’s book, Austenland, a romantic comedy about a Pride & Prejudice obsessed woman, has already been made into a movie (directed by Jerusha Hess) and was produced in part by Fickle Fish Films, a production company owned by Stephenie Meyer & Meghan Hibbett.
Austenland will be premiering at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival in Utah! Which is a very fitting inaugural location being as Shannon Hale and Jerusha Hess are Salt Lake City locals.

For Jerusha Hess, directing her first film adapted from Utah author Shannon Hale’s book “felt pretty empowering to be these little Utah girls making a movie.”
Now Hess, the Salt Lake City-based filmmaker, and Hale will see their collaboration, “Austenland,” receive its world premiere at home in Utah — at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
“Austenland” was picked as one of the 16 U.S. Dramatic Competition entries at this year’s festival, the Sundance Institute announced on Wednesday, Nov. 28.
Congratulations to Shannon Hale, Jerusha Hess, and Stephenie & Meghan, and everybody involved in the film! This is exciting news!!!
“Austenland” stars Keri Russell, JJ Feild, Jennifer Coolidge, Brett McKenzie, and Jane Seymore. Check out the IMDb page right now! HERE.
