Austenland Premieres at Sundance to Packed House

It was a HUGE day for the coolest creative trio on planet earth. (Well, at least if you’re a giddy fangirl.) Austenland premiered to the world at Sundance Film Festival to a PACKED house.
The Eccles Theater in Park City, the largest of the city’s theaters used during the festival, seating 1,270 people, housed the very first screening of the much anticipated indy film. It will continue to screen at other sold out theaters throughout the coming week.
The film is the result of the collaborative genius of author Shannon Hale, director Jerusha Hess, and producer Stephenie Meyer. It will appeal primarily to a female audience however, a surprising number of male audience members have (publicly) given it a thumbs up on Twitter! Whether or not their buddies revoke their man-cards for shamelessly enjoying a Jane Austen-centric “chick flick” remains to be seen, but we salute you, unabashed male rom-com lovers!
Austenland is sure to receive a buyer for nation wide (U.S.) distribution, and will likely appear in theaters everywhere in the not-too-distant future.
Congratulations! to everyone involved with the film, but above all, to Shannon, Jerusha, and Steph who made it happen!
Austenland Cast includes: Keri Russell, Jennifer Coolidge, JJ Feild, Bret McKenzie, Jane Seymore, James Callis, Ricky Whittle, Georgia King
