Lionsgate Home Entertainment team invited some of the local fan sites to a private a screening this weekend to be the first to check out the upcoming Blu-ray and DVD release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 Extended Edition that hits stores March 2nd as well as a sneak peek of the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 bonus features.

I was so fortunate to attend on TwilightMOMs behalf. Lionsgate had arranged a great lunch after the screening and surprised us with 2 of the cast members from Breaking Dawn part 2. Erik Odom and Toni Trucks were on hand to talk no holds barred with us and well, sort of talk about all the great things that were added to Breaking Dawn part 1, and the amazing extras that are on Breaking Dawn part 2 DVDs.

Lionsgate did a great job of having lots of clips. From Comic Con to the black carpet on the special features DVD, as well as a 7 part documentary where the cast and filmmakers of Breaking Dawn part 2 take you behind the scenes. You get to see so much of how they did the different special effects to how difficult it was to shoot 2 movies simultaneously. I loved watching all the behind the scenes clips just as much as watching the movie again, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did…

I was fortunate enough to get an advanced viewing of the Breaking Dawn Part 1 – extended edition and a behind the scenes documentary from Breaking Dawn Part 2. In the Part 1 extended edition the extra scenes, totaling 8 minutes, are a nice treat for fans. We see an extended opening with the Volturi, the honeymoon scene where Edward prepares breakfast for an insatiable Bella, the Fido scene!, a nice moment between Alice and Jacob, and a tense and physical moment between Edward and Jacob. While I understand why many of these had to be cut, as a fan of the book, it was really good to see some favorite moments on the screen along with a couple of unexpected scenes.
