We are thrilled to announce our new featured artist- Hana Pestle.  Hana’s song Need is a song that describes Bella’s feelings after Edward leaves in New Moon.  TwilightMOMS had the opportunity to interview Hana.  Watch the interview and several of Hana’s performances here.

Although Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is our official charity we like to also spotlight other charities.  This month our September Charity Spotlight of the Month is one that is very near and dear to the reader in me- The American Library Association.  How perfect is that for a fan site that started because of a love of reading?!?!?

From the very beginning of our Spotlight section Britten (EndlessTwilight) has been doing all the coordinating and researching by herself.  She has worked so hard and is so dedicated to the section.  For quite some time we have worried that Britten is going to burn-out by carrying the burden all by herself. Our Current Featured Music Artist, The Mitch Hansen Band, teases us with a little tidbit on a new song they’ve been working on: 

 I’m just really excited about the most recent song I’ve started putting together.  It sounds really cool!  Well, at least it does in my head, because I haven’t laid down any tracks for it yet.  It’s going to be called “Whisper.”  I’ll let you try to guess what its about, but I’m not going to tell if you’re right.  Yeah, I’m evil like that, but I’m hoping the song’s eventual coolness will more than make up for my evil ways.

Mitch’s Twilight inspired music has garnered legions of fans the world over. Fans know him for his unique sound and uncanny insight into the Twilight Saga which has enabled him to pour into his music, all the same deep emotions readers feel while reading the books. This unsuspecting husband and father in Atlanta, GA has become an artistic icon within the Twilight fan base… and here on TwilightMOMS.com, he has the prestigious distinction of having been the very first ever TwilightDAD, joining TwilightMOMS when it was just a super small group of maybe 20 members on Myspace.

And all of this goes straight to our official charity, Alex’s Lemonade Stand. The winning bidder was one of our own TwilightMOMS, Gabby Vittoria aka dazzledforever. Congrats to her!
Shielou was super touched about this because her own grandmother died of bone cancer. I’m sure she will be doing another auction like this in the future and encourages all the Twilight vendors out there to give their time and talents to such causes as this.

I am SO excited about this!!!!! Some of you may have seen pictures of her past work here, but this time she has totally outdone herself!!! I just got an update from one of our past featured artists, Dexter Freebish. Chris, their bassist, told me they have new album coming out next week and it will include 4 new songs, as well as 10 oldies but goodies including “Twilight”. One of their new songs is called “The Other Side” and it will also be featured in the new EA video game, Sims 3, coming in March of 2009.

You can listen to “The Other Side” and “Twilight” on their myspace site here where you can also pre-order their new album. You can discuss it here in the forums.
